Description:

The Soul Magic skill-line is part of the "World" category in the Elder Scrolls Online. The Soul Magic skill-line has active skills that you can activate during combat and passive skills that are always active.

How do you unlock the Soul Magic skill-line?

The Soul Magic skill-line is already unlocked when you create your character. You can start using the base skill Soul Trap immediately, as it is already unlocked on the base level of the Soul Magic skill-line.

How do you level up the Soul Magic skill-line?

To level up the Soul Magic skill-line in the Elder Scrolls Online you have to complete missions in the Harborage from the Prophet (Main Story Quests). By successfully completing missions your Soul Magic skill-line will level up, you will also gain skill points for completing these quests.

You will reach the maximum level after defeating Molag Bal.

The damage numbers of the skills that you see below are used for comparison. The numbers are based on a naked level 50 character without any skills, passives, attributes and champion points allocated. Your damage numbers will change depending on what gear, skills, attributes, champion points, enchantments or buffs your character has.

Ultimate Skills
Soul Strike	Burn an enemy from the inside with soulfire, dealing 14808 Magic Damage over 5 seconds. While channeling this ability, you gain immunity to all disabling effects. Enemies affected by this ability are revealed for 3 seconds and may not enter stealth or invisibility.
Soul Assault	Burn an enemy from the inside with soulfire, dealing 20400 Magic Damage over 6 seconds. While channeling this ability, you gain immunity to all disabling effects. Enemies affected by this ability are revealed for 3 seconds and may not enter stealth or invisibility.
Shatter Soul	Burn an enemy from the inside with soulfire, dealing 14814 Magic Damage over 5 seconds. Upon completion, the soulfire overflows and explodes from the enemy, dealing 2399 Magic Damage to all enemies near them. While channeling this ability, you gain immunity to all disabling effects. Enemies affected by this ability are revealed for 3 seconds and may not enter stealth or invisibility.
Active Skills
Soul Trap	Lay claim to an enemy's soul, dealing 4631 Magic Damage over 20 seconds. Fills an empty Soul Gem if an affected enemy dies.
Soul Splitting Trap	Lay claim to enemy souls, dealing 2316 Magic Damage to your target and any other nearby enemies over 10 seconds. Fills an empty Soul Gem if an affected enemy dies.
Consuming Trap	Lay claim to an enemy's soul, dealing 4642 Magic Damage over 20 seconds. If an affected enemy dies, you fill an empty Soul Gem, heal for 3200 Health, and restore 2400 Magicka and 2400 Stamina. This portion of the ability scales off your Max Health, Magicka, and Stamina.
Soul Burst	Unleash a powerful burst of soul magic around you.
Wield Soul	Launch a concentrated blast of soul magic at a target.
Passive Skills
Soul Shatter	When your Health drops below 20% your soul explodes, dealing 1600 Magic Damage to enemies within 8 meters of you. This effect can occur once every 2 minutes and scales off your Max Health.
Soul Summons	Allows you to revive once every 1 hour without spending a Soul Gem.
Soul Lock	Killing an enemy has a 10% chance of automatically filling an empty Soul Gem.
